Kathleen Hagenbuch Courie, 86, formerly of Potomac, MD, passed away on May 19, 2022 in White Plains, NY.
Kathleen was born to Norman and Esther (Deppe) Hagenbuch and raised in Bowmanstown, Pennsylvania. At age 19, she moved to Washington, DC to work in the US House of Representatives, and later the National Institutes of Health (NIH). After she retired as a Commercial Lease Manager for NIH, she remained active in her neighborhood association, traveled, and researched both Hagenbuch and Courie genealogies until her stroke in 2013. She always enjoyed singing, playing the piano, traveling, working on crosswords, and going to the theatre.
Beloved wife of the late Wadie A. Courie, DDS; devoted mother of LeeAnn Courie Jacobs (husband, Peter Jacobs) and Karen Alexandra Courie (husband, Juan Miguel Rodriguez); cherished grandmother of Noah and Hailey Jacobs, and Sofia and Catalina Rodriguez
Family will receive friends at PUMPHREY’S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Ave, Rockville, MD beginning at 12pm on Thursday May 26 with service following. Entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
