Homer S. Hagenbuch, 95 formerly of RR 1 Milton, passed away October 14, 2012 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Select Specialty Unit, Camp Hill. Homer recently moved from Elmcroft Assisted Living in Lewisburg to Elmcroft Assisted Living in Dillsburg.

Born November 4, 1916 in Turbot Twp., he was the son of the late Clarence and Hannah (Sechler) Hagenbuch. On March 22, 1939 he married the former Irene M. Faus and celebrated 72 years of marriage until her passing, August 7, 2011.

Homer is an Army veteran of WWII serving in the tank corps.

Homer was a farmer and farmed until 1967 in the Limestoneville area and also for the Kepler Brother’s Farm for many years. He also is a retired groundskeeper from Bucknell University. He was an active member of the Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church and served on the cemetery board for many years. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing, hosting card parties and traveling across the country to visit family.

Homer is survived by sons: Mark O. (Linda) of Dillsburg; Robert H. (Marcia) of Kansas City, MO and David C. (Niki) of Seward; a daughter; Barbara C. (S. Thomas, Sr.) Huffman of Dauphin; sisters; Ellen Hagenbuch and Mary Taylor both of Milton; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Homer was preceded in death by brothers; Charles H., Wilmer H. and Lee H. and a sister Florence Robb.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday at the Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church, 130 Hagenbuch Loop, Danville with Rev. Adrian J. Shearer and Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Family will provide flowers and suggest contributions in Homer’s name be made to the church, 130 Hagenbuch Loop, Danville, PA 17821.
