Information from obituary1. Bernice L. Butz, 82, of Upper Nazareth Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born: in Easton on October 08, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Katie R. Bensing Hagenbuch. Personal: She was the wife of Joseph F. Butz with whom she shared 63 years of marriage on May 28th. Bernice was a graduate of Nazareth High School class of 1947. Memberships: She was a long-time, active member of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth where she served on the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, Choir, Von Bora Society and the Evangelism Committee. Survivors: in addition to her loving husband, Joseph, she is survived by her sons, Bob Butz and his wife, Yvonne of Nazareth and Alan Butz and his wife, Cynthia of Bushkill Township; four grandchildren, Matthew, Melanie, Chad and Gary; three great-grandchildren, Callyann, Charlotte and Joseph; a brother, Walter Hagenbuch and his wife, Sandy of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters, Irene Neel of Palmer Township and Regina Fritchman of Nazareth. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Joe Butz and two sisters, Dorothy Hagenbuch and Marian Fair. Services: will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. all in the church. Interment will follow in the Hope Cemetery, Hecktown. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., Village of Moorestown Bath.
