Death certificate lists 1874 as birth year and was filled out by son. Interestingly, Joseph’s mother’s name is “Elizabeth Leah.” This seems to be a misspelling of his grandmother, “Elizabeth Loehr”. Joseph’s draft card (signed my him) confirms birthdate as March 25, 1874.
