Evan G. ‘Skip’ Hagenbuch Jr.

Services in Rhode Island for Bloomsburg native Evan G. “Skip” Hagenbuch 67, of Cave Creek, formerly of East Greenwich, R.I., died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at home. He had lived in Arizona three and a half years, previously residing in East Greenwich. He was the husband of Sheila V.(Fitzgerald) Hagenbuch. They had been married 33 years. Born in Bloomsburg, he was a son of Hortense E. Hagenbuch of Berwick and the late Evan G. Hagenbuch Sr.

He was a 1955 graduate of Berwick High School, where he was class president and lettered in baseball and basketball. He was a 1959 graduate of Lehigh University, Bethlehem, and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Cave Creek American Legion. Mr. Hagenbuch was vice president of Microelectronics Technology for the former Olin Hunt Corporation, retiring in 1998.

He was active in Little League baseball and softball and was an avid fan of East Greenwich football and field hockey. In addition to his wife and his mother, he leaves a daughter, Erin L. Hagenbuch, Alexandria, and a sister, Harriet S. Hagenbuch of Berwick. He was the father of the late E.J. Hagenbuch. A mass to celebrate his life will be held Oct. 30, at St. Jude’s Church, Front Street, Lincoln, R.I. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Station, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
