Susan A. Wade, 60, of Geneseo passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her home. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 10:30 am Thursday, January 21 at Vandemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Geneseo. Rev. Lou Zuck will officiate. Private inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Per her requests cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo.
Susan was born March 9, 1949 in Sterling, IL the daughter of David and Ruth (Brown) Mickley. She was a graduate of Prophetstown High School and earned her bachelors degree at Mary Crest School of Nursing, Davenport. Susan was united in marriage to Clarence “Randy” Wade September 1994 in Geneseo. She had been employed as a Registered Nurse at CGH, Morrison Hospital, Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo, and also at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo. Susan was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo. She collected Longaberger Baskets and loved cooking, gardening and canning. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Randy Wade; her mother Ruth Mickley, Prophetstown; a son Carl “Tyke” (Julie) Hackbarth, Jr., Sterling; two grandchildren Carlynn and Brinley Hackbarth, two sisters Joan (Leo) Rienstra, Polo, IL; Karen (Steve) Gilbert, Polo, IL; three brothers Ron (Ginny) Mickley, Prophetstown; Joe (Jackie) Mickley, Geneseo; Kevin (Marsha) Mickley, Viola, IL; several nieces and nephews, three step daughters Sheri (Stanley) Greenwood, Crel, IL; Sue (Dan) Alexander, Geneseo; Randee Wade, Geneseo, numerous step grandchildren & step great grandchildren.
