Earl E. Paul, Sr., 84, of Aurora, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at Provena Mercy Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1923 in Aurora, IL to Bela and Rose Paul.
Earl was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country in World War II. He was also known as “Sunshine” and proudly served on the Aurora Police Department for 32 _ years. Earl was very active in the community. He was a past President and member of both the Policemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association of Illinois and the Phoenix Club. Earl also belonged to the Tiger Club and several other policemen associations. He was an avid bowler and will be long remembered for his outstanding cooking, particularly his stuffed cabbages. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by three children, Bonnie (Tom) Tinker, Lyda (Dennis) Schmidt, both of Montgomery, and Earl Paul, Jr. of Tomahawk, WI; two granddaughters, Kristin and Kelli Schmidt; his brother John (Donna) Paul; numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 1999; his parents; his sisters, Olga Raboine, Caroline Hayes, and Rose Silagy; and his brothers, Robert and William Paul.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. to St. Rita of Cascia Church at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with internment at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a liturgical wake service at 4:00 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N.
