This obituary is from the Press Enterprise Tuesday, January 29, 2013, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania J. Blaine Miller Kawneer retiree enjoyed auto racing, sports J. Blaine Miller, 86, formerly of Bloomsburg, after retiring and moving to the family homestead in Greenwood, passed away Jan. 26, 2013, while at Balanced Care. He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Columbia County, a son of the late J. Carl and Gertrude Karschner Miller. He is the last of his immediate family. He graduated from Scott Township School in 1945. He was a co-owner of a service station in Millville, then worked for Evon Abraczinskas Farm and then for Kawneer for 23 years, retiring in 1989. While working at Kawneer, he also played for the company softball team. He was a member of the Greenwood Christian Church, where he served as secretary and groundskeeper for many years. He faithfully attended Bible studies and church services. He also took care of Lemons Cemetery and recently donated land to extend the cemetery. Blaine had an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed all sports, especially auto racing and attending sporting events at Bloomsburg University. He loved reading about the Civil War Era and history in general, and going to the Bloomsburg Fair. He was blessed with many good friends and enjoyed spending time and adventures with them. Blaine is survived by a son, Thomas Miller, and his wife Rhonda of Boalsburg. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Greenwood Christian Church, Eagle Road, Orangeville, with his pastor, Daniel Belles, officiating. Burial will be at Lemons Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Blaine’s memory to the Greenwood Christian Church, in care of Eleanor Drabot, 663 Rohrsburg Road, Orangeville, PA 17859.
