Visited Hilda and Wilmer Reichard in about 1980.

Findagrave: Born and raised north of Nescopek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania Hilda’s father was killed in a horse and buggy accident when she was just 10 years old. This led to financial hardship for Hilda’s mother and family. As a widow her mother taught school and supported her family of six children on that meager salary.

Hilda was blessed with a cheery disposition and personality. She went on to become a registered nurse going to nursing school in the Bloomsburg Nursing program under the direction of Atta Albertson. Atta would later become the Director of the Bloomsburg Hospital moving it from 5th Street to its current location.

Hilda met and married Wilmer Reichard a shy bachelor already well into his thirties. They would make a home on the farm he bought and remained, in Hemlock Township, for the rest of their lives. They would have two children together, son Donald Reichard (1933-1995) and daughter Jeanne (Reichard) Belford (b. 1934).
