Oct. 17, 2001 Clarence D. Hagenbuch, 87, of Kessler Place, South Bend, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2001 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on September 21, 1914, in Centertown, Pennsylvania to the late Ida May (Fulkerson) and Theodore Atwood Hagenbuch.

On September 4, 1937, in South Bend he married LaVergne M. Grassby who survives. Mr. Hagenbuch is also survived by a daughter, Jo Ann (John) Dake of South Bend; two granddaughters, Carolyn (Randy) Brooks and Holly Dake, both of South Bend; a grandson, Todd (Debbie) Dake of New Carlisle; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Baker of South Bend; and two nephews. Mr.

Hagenbuch retired in 1976 after 41 1 years from the Bendix Corporation where he was a machine repairman. He was a graduate of the first graduating class from Clay High School in 1933. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, South Bend. He was a 50 years member of the St. Joseph Lodge AM and was also a 50 year member of all three York bodies of the Masonic Lodge.

He was a past Monarch of the Avalon Grotto and was a past commander of the Commandry of the Knights Templar Services for Mr. Hagenbuch will be at 10 a.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 North William Street, South Bend. Rev. Daniel Berger pastor of First United Methodist Church, South Bend, will conduct the services.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with an Avalon Grotto service taking place at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Cremation will take place in the Michiana Crematory. South Bend.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Avalon Grotto Humanitarian Fund.
