Findagrave: James J. Smith, 72, of Wilson, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009 in his home. Born on September 4, 1936 in Nazareth, he was a son of the late William G. and Minnie (Hagenbach) Smith. His wife, the former Mary Laura Costin, died on October 14, 2000.
James retired in 1989 from Strohl Brewery, Fogelsville, where he was employed for 22 years. Prior to that, he worked for James River, formerly Dixie Cup, for 19 years. He was a member of Schoeneck Moravian Church, Nazareth. James was a member of Rider Motorcycle Touring Club, Mt. Pocono and Whitfield Masonic Lodge 622, Tatamy.
Survivors: Sons, Bruce and Mark, both of Nazareth; daughter, Cathy Koller of Portage, Ind.; stepdaughter, Sheila Bianco of Easton; brothers, William G. Jr. and Albert J., both of Nazareth; sister, Julian Buskirk of Nazareth; five grandchildren, a great-granddaughter. A sister, Althea Welty, died earlier.
