Lois Beetz, 99, of Mendota died January 28, 2018 at Stonecroft Village, Mendota.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday in Zion United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Hogun Kim officiating. Burial will be in Waltham Cemetery, Waltham Twp. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Lois was born January 14, 1919 in Ottawa to Charles and Anna (Finley) Yates. She married Charles Beetz on June 7, 1944 at the Waltham Presbyterian Church. He preceded her on January 27, 1999.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the True Blues. She was always helping with kitchen duties and compiling the church newsletter for mailing. She enjoyed painting, sewing, reading and singing. Lois was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for many years. Her family was very dear to her.

She is survived by two sons, James (Marlys) Beetz of Amboy and William (Chris) Beetz of Mendota; five grandchildren; Tina (Rick) Eastabrooks, Laura (Eric) Pearson Brian (Kathy) Beetz, Chad Beetz and Justin Beetz; two step-grandsons, Justin (Michelle) Walter and Nathan Walter; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her grandson, Matthew Beetz, one sister, Evelyn Small and one brother, Harold Yates.

Memorials may be directed to Zion United Methodist Church, Feed the Children, Horizon House and Lighted Way.
