I'm not sure this is record is right. Per Andreas' will, "Catharina" has a daughter Magdalena Brobst. So does that mean Catharina is actually Catharina Brobst (not Brouss)? I'd like to know more about the sources here.
Let's say Catharina marries when she is 21, so she gets married in 1759. Her daughter Magdalena (if the eldest) would be born in 1760 and would be 21 herself in 1781. Andreas dies in 1785, so there is a chance Magdalena is married to a Brobst, but it would seem more likely that Magdalena wasn't married yet Catharina was a Brobst like her daughter. Thoughts?
As improbable as this sounds, it seems like Magdalena was actually married to a Brobst before Andreas died. I realize now this is all based upon the will I found for Catharina Brouss that describes how her son-in-law is Jacob Brobst (so he was married to Magdalena). Her granddaughter is Catharina Smith, married to Dr. James Smith. The executor was her brother Christian Hagenbuch.
Catharina Smith was born 1776 per her grave record. This is possible, but it means that Catharina Hagenbuch (b. 1738) married John Brouss around 1756 and Magdalena Brouss was born in 1757. She then marries Jacob Brobst around 1775 and Catharina is born in 1776. She then married Dr. James Smith before 1795, when she was probably about 18. It all seems very tight in terms of the timeline, but it could be possible based upon what is mentioned in Catharina Brouss's will.
